Section 148 of the Evidence Act 2011 – What it Says and All You Need to Know.

Section 148 of the Evidence Act 2011 Provides as Follows:

The court shall presume the genuineness of every document purporting to be –

(a) the official Gazette of Nigeria or of a State,

(b) the official Gazette of any country other than Nigeria,

(c) a newspaper or journal,

(d) a copy of the resolutions of the National Assembly or of the House of Assembly of a State, printed by the Government Printer, or

(e) a copy of a document directed by any law to be kept by any person, if such document is kept substantially in the form required by law and is produced from proper custody.
